Geographical Distribution of the Indigo Plant
The species of plant, Indigofera, is the third-largest in the family Leguminosae. It consists of almost 800 varieties of Indigo plants.
It is primarily found in the regions of the world mentioned below:

- 200 varieties of the Indigo plant are found in Asia predominantly in India.
- More than 80 varieties of Indigo are grown in North and South America.
- About 50 to 60 varieties of the Indigo plant are found in Australia.
